'Overlord' was the codename for the Battle of Normandy launched with the Allies' successful amphibious landings in occupied northern France.
To hold the flanks of the beach head, and sow confusion, those landings began from the air, as American, British and Canadian airborne forces landed by parachute and glider in the early hours, to destroy strategic German positions and capture vital bridges, courageously supported on the ground by the French Resistance. Their mission was to establish an advanced bridgehead, for the breakout from the beaches.
Our design features a 'stick' of allied paratroopers dropping from a Douglas Dakota against the night sky.
